Course Description
This short course explores the evolution and application of flexible laboratory automation in analytical chemistry. The course covers key components such as collaborative robots, sensors, and control systems, emphasizing their role in enhancing laboratory efficiency. Practical strategies for implementing automated workflows using intuitive, user-friendly software will be discussed, with real-world examples. Additionally, integrating analytical instruments and laboratory devices into automated systems will be covered. A practical demonstration using a collaborative robot (Cobot) will allow participants to experience hands-on time. Attendees will also explore market trends, economic drivers, and basic safety considerations to create flexible, cost-effective automation solutions without specialized programming skills.
Target Audience
It is ideal for those seeking to enhance laboratory efficiency and innovation without requiring specialized knowledge in automation or robotics. Participants will benefit from understanding how to implement automated systems in a practical, user-friendly way, focusing on integrating analytical instruments and lab devices. The course is not suited for automation experts, such as engineers, robotic programmers, or system integrators, as it does not delve deeply into advanced technical aspects of automation design and programming.
